CRU FIT (Followers in Training) – Years 5 & 6

For students in Year 5 or 6, CRU FIT (Followers in Training) is a free event focused on teaching foundational Christian leadership skills that can be used in their CRU Group, school, church and their whole life.

We love FIT. The kids come back and they are just pumped to be able to put into practice the things that they’ve learned.
— Emily Thuaux, teacher at Nowra Christian School

FIT provides an amazing opportunity for young CRU Group leaders and potential leaders to grow in their knowledge of Jesus while learning the practical skills of following and serving Him, particularly at school. Over two years, students take part in seminars and activities on topics such as prayer, teaching the Bible, loving God and others, serving as a leader and more. The days are lots of fun too - as well as Bible talks, there is plenty of time for playing games, eating yummy food and making new friends with students from other schools.

CRU FIT is held at locations around NSW during Term 1 and Term 3 each year. To find out more about where you can come along to FIT contact Clare Wimble at clare.wimble@cru.edu.au or (02) 9188 9733.

Inter-CRU & Mega-CRU – Years 7-12

Many high schoolers tell us they often feel like the only Christian at school. The good news is that there are over 7,000 Christian students that belong to CRU Groups across NSW, the ACT and WA. Inter-CRUs are an opportunity for Christian high school students to meet together in one place and see that they are not alone, hear fantastic Bible talks, worship, play games, hear inspiring testimonies and enjoy delicious food. It’s a free event usually held after school once a term and is a time of huge encouragement for those who attend and a great way of connecting with like-minded students.

The Inter-CRU events run by CRU have served as a huge support, because through them numerous school CRU Groups are able to gather together at one venue, and be united as one body of Christ on what ends up being an incredibly fun end to a week.
— Seb Lane, student

Inter-CRU events are held at various locations across Sydney, Canberra and Perth, and typically happen on a Friday afternoon. For NSW students at the end of the year, we hold a combined event called Mega-CRU.

I love being able to meet new people, see old friends, and hear about how their CRU Groups are going. It’s so great to see people who love God like you do. I love hearing friends’ prayer points so that I can pray for them. I love visiting so many different Inter-CRUs throughout Sydney and getting to learn so much about God.

CrossTrain

Designed to help students in Years 7 to 12 to grow in their Christian faith, CrossTrain is an awesome camp that is run in NSW and WA each year and caters for all stages of Christian maturity. Running over a week, students will hear daily Bible talks, pray together, engage in discussion groups, and attend workshops and seminars to equip them with practical skills to use at their school and lunchtime CRU Group. Our camp speakers and leaders include CRU’s theologically-trained Schools Ministry team, guest speakers and volunteers who are passionate about gospel ministry in schools and helping students grow in their faith.

Being a Christian at school can be challenging… but CrossTrain is a fantastic way to help your young leaders and potential leaders grow in their faith, live for Jesus and be confident to serve Him at their school. With many campers returning year-after-year, it is a wonderful opportunity to meet Christians from other schools and form life-long friendships!

CrossTrain will help students:

  • Stand firm in their faith

  • Be equipped to serve

  • Love the Bible

  • Know the gospel and share it at school

  • Value and practise prayerfulness

  • Love and care for other students

  • Live godly lives
